So as we mentioned in our update post, we need to fill you all in on what we’ve been up to the last few months! One of the big things the Studio took on was running for our second year, our Paint the City Pink fundraiser to raise money for Breast Cancer awareness. This year was a HUGE success because of the help and support of so many people. Below is our final press release from the event that will give you all the details!
Paint the City Pink Event a Huge Success
Jonni’s , Paul Mitchell and the Kamloops YMCA teamed up again this year to ‘Paint the City Pink’ and raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. On September 28th at the downtown YMCA, and October 17th at the North Shore YMCA, Jonni’s provided Pink Ink Streaks (temporary vegetable based color), pink hair extensions and pink feathers to participants for a donation.
This year was a huge success, beating last year’s total and raising $4200 to-date, to be donated directly to the RIH Foundation. On Wednesday, studio owner Jonni Yeomans, and team stylists Janice Caravan, Michael Bigam, Katie Hamilton and Candace Palmer met the RIH foundation to present the donation.
They would like to express their deep appreciation to all those who came out to support this important cause. Thank you to both the Downtown YMCA and North Shore YMCA for partnering with the studio again this year; the event could not have happened with you. Thank you to Susan from Kamloops Mid-day and to Steve and Cheryl from B100 for getting the word out there, and coming to both the salon and the event locations to show your support. Thank you to Paul Mitchell and Diane Jackson from BSG for donating all the product used throughout the event. And of course, Paint the City Pink would not have been the success it was without the support of all those who came to the events and donated for the cause; thank you!
